Department Of Microbiology Microbiology is the discipline of biology that studies the fundamental nature and utility of unicellular organisms, both prokaryotic and eukaryotic, that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Microorganisms are key agents in the cycling of all the major elements of life. They have been instrumental in introducing new concepts into molecular evolution and genomics; and they have great potential for exploitation in industry, agriculture, food production and environmental restoration. The fundamentals constitute the broad outline of the current field termed Microbiology. This motivates thousands of students in their scholarly pursuits About the course The Bachelors’ Degree Course in Industrial Microbiology is affiliated to the University of Kerala. It is a double main course (Biochemistry and Microbiology) that provide major opportunities for research and novel discoveries in all aspects of microbiology, including biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, developmental biology, physiology, pathogenicity, biodiversity, evolution, and genetics of microorganisms.
