DEPARTMENT OF BIOTECHNOLOGY Biotechnology is one of the fastest emerging fields due to its tremendous potential for application in areas like agriculture, pharmaceutical industry, biochemical and biomedical engineering. The progress made in this field has a direct impact on mankind and his welfare. Biotechnology is not just a technique; it touches on the foundation of life. In this era of biotechnology, there is an urgent need for young talents to venture into this field ABOUT THE COURSES The course is affiliated to the University of Kerala. It is a triple main course (Biotechnology, Botany and Zoology) with the curriculum being framed to face the challenges in the areas of research in the respective fields. The students can either opt for higher studies or take up challenging careers in the areas of research and development, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, horticultural industries, etc.
