Civil Engineering is as old as the Pyramids of Egypt and is the basic branch of engineering which can provide basic infrastructure such as Buildings, Highways, Railways, Bridges, Dams and Hydro Power plant to any developing country. “Civil Engineering is the practice of improving and maintaining the built environment to enhance the quality of life for the present and future generations.” Department of Civil Engineering was established in the academic year 2012-2013 with an intake of 60 BE students. The department has well equipped state-of-the-art laboratories for Surveying, Soil Testing, Cement and Concrete Testing, Highway Material Testing, Quality Testing of Water and Waste Water Samples. The department has dedicated and highly qualified faculty members from most disciplines like Structural Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering etc. The faculty members have extensive experience in industry, research as well as teaching. Many of our faculty members and students are involved in research activities in various areas of civil engineering. The department is also very active in conducting workshops, short term seminars etc. The department has been constantly arranging trips to industrial visits and site visits to enhance practical knowledge of students. The students are provided with placement training to develop their soft skills and aptitude knowledge to face the competitive world to gain success in their career. The students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular and co curricular activities to develop their hidden talents. The department has nurtured young minds to produce bright able civil engineers.
